After the KFIN and CAMS upload: the rest of your GST month

Since April 2026, you raise a GST invoice to each AMC every month. You upload it on KFIN or CAMS before the 15th. If it goes in late, part of that month's earnings waits for the next cycle.

In short: you upload your GST invoices on KFIN or CAMS yourself. After the upload, four jobs are still yours: your GSTR-1, checking what each AMC paid, your own invoice numbers, and a record you can find later. MFD Office makes the signed invoices and the filled Excel template for KFIN and CAMS, and does these four jobs from the same invoices.

KFIN and CAMS keep improving their upload screens. That helps you. The upload is one part of the month, though. This page lists the jobs that come after it, so you can see which ones apply to you.

The four jobs after the upload

Some of these apply to every MFD. Some apply only if you are registered for GST, or use your own invoice numbers.

1

Your GSTR-1

If you are registered for GST, you file GSTR-1. It is one return for the month. It needs one line for each invoice you raised, with the AMC's GSTIN, the taxable value and the tax. If your AMCs are with both KFIN and CAMS, the lines come from both. You type them on the GST portal yourself, or you give them to your CA.

2

What each AMC paid you

Your brokerage and GST come into one bank account. Many AMCs pay on different dates. The bank statement shows a credit and a short narration. You need to match each credit to an AMC and a month. You also need to see which AMC has not paid yet.

3

Your own invoice numbers

Some MFDs use their own invoice numbering. If you do, your series is one series. It must run from month to month with no gap and no repeat, whichever registrar the invoice went through.

4

A record you can find

An AMC or your CA may ask about one invoice months later. You need the signed copy, its number and its amounts. You need to find them without searching through old downloads and emails.

Two registrars, one set of books

KFIN and CAMS are two separate companies. Both are correct. They are simply different. KFIN goes by the trail month. CAMS goes by the payment month. But your GSTR-1 is one return, and your bank account is one account. So somebody has to join the two sides together.

What MFD Office does

MFD Office makes the signed invoice for each AMC and the filled Excel template, for KFIN and CAMS. Before you download, it checks each invoice amount against the KFIN or CAMS figure. It builds your GSTR-1 file and an Excel for your CA from the month's invoices. You review and file. Money In reads your bank statement and shows what each AMC paid you. If you use your own invoice numbers, it keeps one series across KFIN and CAMS. Your past invoices stay in one list, month by month.

You still upload on KFIN and CAMS yourself. MFD Office does the work before and after the upload.

Common questions

Can I upload my GST invoices on KFIN and CAMS without any software?

Yes. You upload your signed GST invoices on the KFIN or CAMS website yourself, between the 7th and the 15th of the month. The upload is one part of the month. After it, four jobs are still yours: your GSTR-1, checking what each AMC paid you, keeping your own invoice number series if you use one, and keeping a record you can find later. MFD Office does the work before and after the upload.

What GST work does an MFD have after uploading invoices on KFIN or CAMS?

Four jobs. First, report every invoice in your GSTR-1, which is one return for the month. Second, check which AMC has paid your brokerage and GST, and which has not. Third, if you number your own invoices, keep that series with no gap and no repeat. Fourth, keep a record of each signed invoice and its amounts, so you can answer an AMC or your CA months later.

Does MFD Office upload my invoices to KFIN or CAMS?

No. You upload on KFIN and CAMS yourself. MFD Office makes the signed invoice for each AMC and fills the KFIN or CAMS Excel template, so the files are ready to upload. It checks each invoice amount against the KFIN or CAMS figure before you download.

How do I prepare GSTR-1 from my KFIN and CAMS invoices?

Your GSTR-1 needs one line for each invoice you raised, with the AMC's GSTIN, the taxable value and the tax. MFD Office builds these lines from the month's KFIN and CAMS invoices into a GSTR-1 JSON file for the GST portal, and an Excel for your CA. You review it and file it. MFD Office does not file the return.

How do I check which AMC has paid my brokerage and GST?

Match each credit on your bank statement to an AMC and a month. MFD Office has a tab called Money In for this. You upload your bank statement, and it shows what each AMC paid and what is still due, from the invoices you made.

Is this included in every MFD Office plan?

The signed invoices and the filled Excel template are in every plan. The GSTR-1 file, Money In and custom invoice numbering are included in the Professional plan. On pay-as-you-go they use credits, once per month. The first month is free with full access.

Can I try MFD Office before I sign up?

Yes. Upload last month's KFIN or CAMS file on the free demo page. You see a real signed invoice for one of your own AMCs, made from your own numbers. You do not need an account.
