CAMS online GST invoice submission: what it covers, and what it does not

CAMS has told distributors it is introducing an online way to submit GST invoices: log in, verify with an OTP, upload one signature image, and submit, with no printing or scanning. CAMS says it is expected on or before 15 July 2026. Here is what the facility does, step by step, and the GST work that still stays with you.

Not showing inside your CAMS login yet? The monthly upload window of around the 7th to the 15th does not wait. MFD Office makes a signed invoice for every fund house from one upload, today, for CAMS and KFIN. See your own, free →

What CAMS has announced

From the CAMS communication and user guide sent to distributors in July 2026.

The facility lets a distributor submit CAMS-generated invoices from inside the CAMS portal. You verify with an OTP sent to your registered email or mobile, upload one image of your signature, and CAMS applies it to the pending invoices and sends them on to the fund houses. CAMS says it is expected to be available on or before 15 July 2026. Availability can change, so the only way to know is to log in and look: if the option is there for your ARN, you can use it; if not, this month's invoices go up the normal way.

The steps, in short

A condensed version of the CAMS user guide.

  1. 1

    Log in on camsonline.com

Open the Distributors/RIA tab, then Service Requests, and log in with the email registered with the CAMS Distributor Mailback Service.

  2. 2

    Open GST Invoice Upload

Pick your fund houses under the Mutual Fund dropdown, then open GST Invoice Management and GST Invoice Upload.

  3. 3

    Choose the online path

Select Individual, choose CAMS-Generated Invoices as the source, and pick Sign with Signature Upload. If you use your own invoice format, this path is not available: you select Manual Document Upload and sign, scan, and upload yourself.

  4. 4

    Pick the month and verify

Select the payment month and year (the brokerage month is the month before), get an OTP on your registered email or mobile, and fetch your pending invoices.

  5. 5

    Authorise, sign once, submit

The pending invoices are pre-selected. Tick the authorisation for CAMS to apply your signature, upload one clear signature image (PNG or JPG), preview it on an invoice, and submit. Uploaded invoices then show as Approved or Under Review.

What it covers, and what stays with you

Covered by the CAMS facility
Signing and submitting, on CAMS
  • CAMS-generated invoices, submitted from the portal
  • One signature image applied to the pending invoices
  • No printing, scanning, or PDF uploads for that set
Still yours to do
Everything else
  • ·KFIN: a signed invoice per fund house plus the completed Excel template, every month
  • ·Your own invoice format: back to sign, scan, and upload manually
  • ·Your GSTR-1: every invoice you raised still has to be reported on the GST portal
  • ·Your records: keeping each month's invoices where you and your CA can find them
Submitting the invoice is how the fund house pays the GST on your brokerage. Filing GSTR-1 is how you stay right with the GST department. The first is being made easier. The second is still entirely on you, every month.

The GST work that remains after you submit

Whichever way your invoices reach CAMS.

Every invoice you raise to a fund house, on CAMS and on KFIN, has to appear in your GSTR-1 with the right GSTIN, invoice number, and tax split. Typing 20, 30, or 40 fund house lines into the GST portal takes hours and one wrong GSTIN means a mismatch. When you make your invoices with MFD Office, the GST return tab prepares the GSTR-1 file for the GST portal from those same invoices, plus an Excel your CA can check. Common questions

Is the CAMS online submission facility live?

CAMS has announced it with an expected date of on or before 15 July 2026. Log in to camsonline.com and open GST Invoice Management to see if it shows for you. If it is not there yet, this month's invoices still go up the normal way, and the 7th to 15th window does not wait.

Does it work for my own invoice format?

No. The signature upload path is only for CAMS-generated invoices. Own-format invoices use Manual Document Upload: download, sign physically, scan, and upload.

Does it cover KFIN?

No, it is a CAMS portal facility. The KFIN side keeps its own process. See the KFIN guide.

Does submitting on CAMS file my GSTR-1?

No. You still report every invoice in your own GSTR-1 on the GST portal each month. See how MFDs file GSTR-1.
